Subject: URGENT - due Sun 21 - Submission to support ongoing funding for Upper Hunter Air Quality Monitoring Network

Hello All,

The current funding arrangements with coal mines and power stations to fund the UHAQMN runs out in December 2012.

EPA is proposing that a compulsory levy be placed on the mines and power generators to continue the management and maintenance of the network. It is essential that this continue

EPA has this proposal out for public comment - closes on Sunday 21 Oct (many apologies for short notice).

Send an email to: newcastlerequest@epa.nsw.gov.au (include full name, address and contact number)

Say that you support the proposed Protection of the Environment Operations (General) Amendment (Upper Hunter Air Quality Monitoring Network) Regulation
This amendment allows for the compulsory levy to be imposed - a quick submission of support is needed.

More information is available at:

http://www.environment.nsw.gov.au/aqms/uhaqmnconsult.htm

A direct submission form is available on this site.

Please take the time to do this quick activity - extremely important.
Please circulate to your networks.

Regards
Bev Smiles
