Gas better than coal - consultant

A former Coal Seam Gas consultant is urging Hunter Valley farmers to consider the benefits of CSG drilling, rather than selling their properties to developing coal mines.

After working in Queensland for a number of years, Ken Lees has returned to the Upper Hunter and says he's surprised by the amount of community concern regarding coal seam gas extraction.

Mr Lees says farmers can still live their normal lives on the land, while collecting gas royalities.
