Bureau of Meteorogy issued a special report Exceptional winter heat over large parts of Australia on 26 August, 2009

August 2009 has been Australia’s warmest on record. The month has seen highly abnormal heat
over large parts of Australia, especially in the subtropical areas of Queensland, the southern
Northern Territory and northern New South Wales. In August record daily maximum and minimum
temperatures have been set in many areas. (see full report in pdf format here)

We have recorded only two nights with mild frost in Bulga this winter. However, night temperatures dropped close to zero three times during the last seven days. Quite a change.
