The captains of the Australian economy have been putting all the eggs into the China basket for more then two decades. Now one of them, Ross Garnaut says that the China boom is nearing its end. He talks mainly about the iron ore but his conclusions should equally apply to the coal and gas. Communist China, increasingly divided by personal wealth, may also have some social problems in the near future.

This may not be significant, perhaps just a co-incidence, but we have passed trough the ultra-modern Shanghai airport, twice during the last month and there was more security guides and shop assistants in the departure hall then international travelers . It was a pretty strange place ...
